That night…

Eureka emerged from her bedroom dressed in a Catholic school girl uniform. Her ensemble consisted of a white blouse, plaid skirt, stockings, and flats. The makeup she had on made her look like a twelve year old girl trying her best to look like a grown woman. Anton stepped out of his bedroom and followed Eureka into the living room. He was dressed like a Catholic school boy. His attire was a navy blue blazer, which he wore over a white button-down, and candy striped tie, and khakis. He’d taken the liberty of giving himself an edge up and shaving to make himself look younger than his fifteen years.

When Eureka and Anton entered the living room, Fear and Constance were standing around the table. On the table-top there were several items laid out that they’d planned for the sister and brother duo to use in their mission.

“Ant, come here for a second, family.” Fear motioned him over. When Anton stepped to Fear, he flipped up his collar and loosened his tie. The he slid some glasses on his face and handed him a tube of lip-gloss.

“Fuck you wan’t me to do with this?” Anton’s forehead creased with lines as he looked from the tube of lip-gloss to Fear.

“What chu think, lil’ nigga, put it on,” Fear told him.

“My nigga, I’m not putting this shit on,” Anton protested.”I’m notta booty bandit, you’ve got me tangled and twisted.” He threw the lip-gloss to the floor.

Fear picked up the lip-gloss and placed a hand on his shoulder, gripping it. He looked him dead in his eyes and said, “Look, I’ma keep it a thousand with chu, lil’ homie, I need this lick right now, my pockets short. The only way I know that it will go as planned is if we carry it out to the blueprint that I’ve laid. I need this one bad and I can’t pull it off without my team. I looked out for you and yo sister. And I’m not one to do a nigga a favor and turn around and hit ‘em back up for one, but shit I need it, and bad.”

Anton thought about how the killer had looked out for them when he didn’t know them from a hole in the wall and felt bad. How couldn’t he do what he’d asked of him when he went out of his way to take care of him and his sister? That shit wasn’t honorable, and it didn’t sit right with him.

Anton stared down at the tube of lip-gloss pinched between his mentor’s fingers and exhaled. Fuck, he thought, not really wanting to put on the lip-gloss. “Alright, man.” He plucked the lip-gloss from his fingers and began applying it.

“My nigga.” Fear smiled and playfully punched him in the shoulder. He gave him the once over after he’d finished applying the gloss to his lips. “Yeah, now you’re ready,” he said, pleased with Anton’s appearance.

Anton took a picture of himself with Fear’s cell phone and looked at it.
